| This area of fluid dynamics is generally related to the behavior of effluents released or injected into various stratified fluid ambient surroundings, eg, the behavior of smokestacks and volcanic plumes. Our experiments are directed at the study of turbulent entrainment processes specifically in sharply stratified fluid mediums, such as thermoclines in lakes and oceans, and designed to offer an improved understanding of turbulent mixing processes occurring in our environment. |
